Pilot Training


a)      To promote the art of flying and science of Aeronautics in all its aspects

b)      To instruct members of the Academy in the art of flying

c)       To provide facilities for flying and help members to obtain appropriate licenses as required

d)      To provide facilities for hobby flying

Both boys and girls can join. Duly filled in Application is to be forwarded to the Honorary Secretary. For Application form Rs.250/- to be sent by DD drawn in favour of "Andhra Pradesh Aviation Academy", payable at Hyderabad or it can be collected by paying Rs.200/- from the office of the Academy.

Training Imparted for:

a)      Student Pilot's License (SPL)

b)      Private Pilot's License (PPL)

c)      Commercial Pilot's License (CPL)

d)      Assistant Flight Instructor Rating (AFIR)

e)      Flight Instructor Rating (FIR)

f)       Instrument Rating (IR)

g)      Foreign CPL Conversion into Indian License ( CPLCG)

Educational Qualifications:

a)      10th pass for PPL

b)      10+2 pass with Mathematics & Physics for CPL

Medical Fitness: The member will have to undergo a Medical checkup with DGCA approved Doctor or at AFCME/IAM before commencement of flying.

Age: Not less than 16 years

Selection:  Based on Cockpit Test Report by Chief Flying Instructor & Medical Fitness. Entrance test followed by an Interview

a)      Cessna - 152 A - Single Engine Two Seater.

b)      Cessna - 172 R- Glass Cockpit Four Seater

Simulators:  Academy has one Flight Simulator to train Pilots on Instrument Flying for the issue of Instrument Rating

1.       Elite iGate 1000 Glass Cockpit Simulator with 3-Channel Visual System. The rate per hour is Rs.2,200/-

Place of Training: The location is at Hyderabad (Begumpet) Old Airport.

Flying Training Risk: The Academy is not responsible for any damage or injury to the Members.

Discipline: The Highest standards of discipline both on the ground and in the air are maintained


Every Indian citizen is entitled, subject to availability of vacancies. Foreign students can also apply to the Academy, but their Membership is subject to the approval by the Ministry of Civil Aviation / DGCA


a)      Only members are permitted to enter Academy premises. Members should display their Photo ID cards.

b)      Photography is strictly prohibited with camera or mobile, if found they will be confiscated by the AAI Security in Airport     premises.

Jurisdiction:  All disputes are subject to Hyderabad & Secunderabad Jurisdiction.
